The primary factor that tenants and homeowners should look out for when concerned about mold growth is humidity. Mold thrives in environments of high moisture, as it enables the fungus to reproduce and spread. The ideal humidity level for mold growth is a 60% relative humidity- the percentage of moisture in the air that it can hold at a given temperature. At these levels, surfaces such as walls, ceilings, and floors can become damp, creating a suitable environment for mold spores to settle and grow.
